About

I've sat at that fire myself.

Sean smiling outdoors, mountains and a cloudy sky behind him

Hi, I'm Sean.

I sat in my own darkness for a long time. Somewhere in there, I started talking with my inner child, and I found a small ember of light. I learned how to tend it.

Now I help other people find their own ember and grow it into a flame. A bit like a phoenix, rising out of what used to burn us.

Something that happened

I see trauma as something that happened to you, not something you have. It's part of your story, but it isn't the whole story, and you're the one holding the pen. My part is teaching you the tools: I hand you the pen, then show you how to write a different next chapter.

Six inches

Picture hanging from a bar, arms shaking, terrified to let go. You're sure the fall will be awful. What you can't see is that the ground is only about six inches below your feet. So much of what we carry is like that. We hold on because letting go once felt dangerous, and back then it may have been. Together we look down, find the ground, and practice letting go a little at a time, until you trust you can land.

Why I do this

Honestly, my work is a little selfish. I want a kinder world, where everyone's needs are met, and this is how I help build it.

I'm the same person at work, with my friends, and with my family. What you see is what you get.
